Dubai SME to help entrepreneurs access competitive legal services

    • The Hamdan Innovation Incubator and the International Consultant Law Office have signed an MoU

    • The pact aims to help SMEs and creative entrepreneurs with competitive and specialized legal consultancy

Small and medium enterprises in Dubai may look forward to competitive and specialized legal consultancy, thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Hamdan Innovation Incubator, or HI2, and the International Consultant Law Office, said local reports on Sunday, June 6.

HI2 is the Dubai Economy agency that has the mandate to develop the SME sector. Its MoU is expected to benefit not just SMEs but also creative entrepreneurs, said the reports.

The agreement was signed by Abdulaziz Al Mazmi, director of Business Incubators at Dubai SME, and Saleh Al-Obeidli, partner at the International Consultant Law Office, at the Hamdan Innovation Incubator in Business Village, Dubai.

Dubai SME stated that the MoU reflects its keenness to accomplish the vision and strategy of the government in developing SMEs in Dubai and supporting them to attain the highest levels of sustainability and competitiveness across all levels.

“Our partnership with the International Consultant Law Office is an added value for our support teams and members as they will have access to expert legal services, especially in preparing agreements, drafting contracts, and reviewing the terms and conditions for projects initiated by members of the Hamdan Innovation Incubator and Dubai SME,” said Al Mazmi.

Al Obeidli was quoted by the local reports as saying: “Through this collaboration with Dubai SME, we are keen on providing quality support to entrepreneurs in the Emirate of Dubai through our specialized department at ICLO that is exclusively focused on startups and SMEs, for providing them with innovative legal support and with a vision to promote entrepreneurship and the development of SMEs in the UAE and in particular in the Emirate of Dubai.”

He added: “Our aim is to achieve common goals that are in the interest of the entrepreneurial community, including complimentary (introductory) sessions for SMEs, legal services including the establishment of companies, formulation and preparation of all contracts and agreements that will guide and support entrepreneurs & SMEs. We will also be guiding them on the preparation of shareholders agreements, share purchase/subscription agreements, supply agreements, terms and conditions for electronic platforms, investment agreements, and other innovative services.”
