Dead Sea, Jordan — Jordan’s Tourism Minister Nayef Al-Fayez on Friday evening attended the opening of the Grotto of the Nativity at the Dead Sea Spa Hotel.

The Grotto of the Nativity, the largest in Jordan, is a model that represents the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of Mary. It is also important because it is the only one in the Dead Sea area and within the Holy Land, and also because it is located in the vicinity of the Baptism Site, which is being developed.

Setting up the Grotto of the Nativity as Christmas is approaching is to create religious tourism diversity in the Dead Sea area, which is a global natural resort, Al-Fayez said.

“We need to diversify the tourism products and use our rare and religious places to attract tourists and visitors. What we have of tourist, historical, natural, therapeutic and religious resources, no one else has,” Al-Fayez added.

The Dead Sea Spa Hotel Manager, Michel Nazzal, said that the Grotto of the Nativity is available to visitors and tourists, and it will stay open until January 7 in the hotel to create a diverse festive atmosphere in a tourist area that visitors from different countries of the world can come to.
