Jordan Prime Minster Bisher Khasawneh on Tuesday, September 28, stressed that recent meetings between Jordanian and Syrian officials in Amman and Damascus should be translated into projects, according to local reports.
He expected the projects to “benefit the two brotherly peoples and cement a historical brotherhood bonding the two countries,” according to the local reports
He made the remarks as he welcomed a ministerial Syrian delegation comprising the ministers of economy and foreign trade, water resources, agriculture and electricity.
The Syrian delegation has held a series of meetings with their Jordanian counterparts over the course of two days, said the local reports.
Khasawneh and the Syrian officials explored prospects for expediting the supply of Egyptian natural gas to Lebanon through Jordan and Syria after rehabilitating the decrepit electric grid in Syria.
The Syrian delegation reviewed the outcome of discussions with the Jordanian ministers in the areas of transport, intra-trade, water, agriculture and energy.
It noted that the Syrian people are satisfied over the return of visits and restoration of relations between the two brotherly countries.
