Jordan’s Minister of Agriculture Khaled Hneifat has assured the people that poultry would be available in adequate quantities during the holy month of Ramadan, official sources have said.

He made the announcement after meeting members of the Jordanian Poultry Producers Association on Sunday, March 27, to follow up on the availability of poultry in preparation for the holy month.

Hneifat said the ministry was keen on providing poultry to meet citizens’ needs throughout the holy month.

He noted that the ministry examines and follows up on all products and ensures their availability through the association and relevant unions to proactively identify any shortage and provide products with the appropriate quality and quantity for the Jordanian consumer.

“The ministry is open to various parties, and it directly follows up on all changes and costs, and maintains a balance in the provision of commodities without high prices or monopoly whatsoever, and it values the cooperation of all serious and responsible sectors that work within a clear national umbrella,” he added.

For their part, the association’s representatives said they would continue to cooperate with the ministry in providing poultry, in terms quality and quantity, according to the local market needs.
