Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk region produces over 28m roses annually

TABUK, SAUDI ARABIA – The Tabuk region’s agricultural sector is making steady progress towards achieving the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Tabuk region annually produces over 28 million flowers, including 17 varieties of roses.

These flowers have a market value of over SAR32 million, making the region a leader in rose production and export.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has developed strategies and programs to advance the sector and leverage the region’s comparative advantage for sustainable agricultural development and food security.

The Ministry’s branch in the Tabuk region reports that flower production began in 1983.

An explanatory study was conducted to meet the local market’s need for flowers and achieve self-sufficiency before exporting the unique product to all markets.
