Saudi Arabia and the United States have explored ways to enhance cooperation in space technology, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Commission, Abdullah Amer Alswaha held a meeting with Pamela Melroy, the Deputy Administrator of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in Washington DC in this regard, said the report.

During the meeting, the two countries discussed opportunities for strategic cooperation to develop the space sector.

They are also said to have mulled investment in future joint projects to achieve mutual economic and strategic goals.

This meeting was reportedly a part of a tour by Alswaha of the United States, which included visits to American institutions and companies working in the space sector.

The goal of the tour is apparently to enhance the commission’s efforts in developing the sector and cooperating with various international space and technology organizations.
