Sharjah Football Company signs Tunisian star Mohamed Firas Belarbi

Sharjah, UAE–Sharjah Football Company has signed Mohamed Firas Belarbi, the Tunisian international defender, from the Ajman Club for an undisclosed sum.

Regarded as one of the most effective attacking midfielders in the UAE championships over the past two seasons, Belarbi has an impressive track record. His remarkable contributions during the 2022-2023 season included participation in all 26 league matches, 11 assists, and a total of 12 goals, accounting for more than half of his team’s total goals in the competition.

Founded in 2007, Sharjah Football Company is a joint venture between Sharjah Sports Club and the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority.

The company is steered by its mission to professionalize the management of Sharjah Sports Club’s football activities and to consistently secure victories for the club.

Ownership of the company is held by Sharjah Sports Club and the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority, with Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince of Sharjah, as the club’s chairman.

The day-to-day operations of Sharjah Sports Club’s football activities, encompassing the club’s first team, youth teams, and academy, as well as marketing and commercial activities, are managed by Sharjah Football Company.

Former professional footballer and UAE national team member, Abdullah Al Ajlah, is at the helm as president of the company.

Belarbi’s signing follows recent contracts with other prominent players, including Brazilian midfielder Bruno Tabata and Spanish midfielder Javi Martinez.

With an ambitious roadmap for the future, Sharjah Football Company is not only aiming to secure the UAE Pro League title and the AFC Champions League in the coming years but also planning to establish a world-class football academy in Sharjah.
