Syria to host three-day exhibition of Jordan’s trade and services

Surge in exports coincided with opening of production by many factories.
  • The event is jointly organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce (FSCC).
  • Jordanian companies working in various sectors, particularly in trade, information and telecom technology will take part in the event.

An exhibition of Jordan’s trade and services is scheduled to start next Tuesday in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The event is jointly organized by the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce (FSCC).

JCC said that the three-day exhibition will be held at Damascus Fairground, and would be attended by Jordanian companies working in various sectors, particularly trade, information and telecom technology, according to Jordanian media reports.

Companies working in energy, renewable energy, transportation, logistics, tourism, medical tourism, agriculture and machinery, as well as universities and hospitals, will also participate in the event.

JCC head, Nael Kabariti, said the exhibition constitutes an “important” economic dimension to further deepen Jordanian-Syrian commercial relations.

The exhibition reflects Jordanian commercial and service sector’s desire to develop economic and trade relations with Syria and support their “rapid” development that suits capabilities available in the two countries, he added.

Kabariti noted Jordan’s commercial and service sector is “keen to build a new form of economic relations with Syria within mutual benefit and integration.”

Kabariti pointed to the need to strengthen relations of the economic sector’s institutions, and work jointly to remove the trade obstacles faced by both countries.

Jordanian exports to Syria during the first ten months of 2021 amounted to JD45 million ($63.47 million), compared to JD40 million ($56.42 million) in imports, foreign trade figures issued by the Department of Statistics showed.
