Turkey wants joint cooperation with Iraq regarding the exchange of products, its Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli said.
“Turkey is in the process of cooperating in all fields with Iraq, whether agricultural or other,” said Pakdemirli to the local media.
He noted that his country suffers during this period from lack of water, climate change and migration for several reasons, including wars and clashes.
The purpose of his visit to Iraq is in terms of cooperation “to overcome these phenomena,” he explained.
The minister added that he discussed with the Iraqi Minister of Agriculture, cooperation in the agricultural field and the exchange of agricultural products.
Pakdemirli indicated that “our region suffered from drought in recent years and the lack of water has affected agriculture in Turkey.”
He pointed out, “Turkey has started using drip irrigation method in some agricultural crops.”
