Etisalat UAE gets new CEO

  • Masood M Sharif Mahmood will report directly to the Etisalat Group CEO, a position currently held by Hatem Dowidar

Masood M Sharif Mahmood has been appointed chief executive officer of Etisalat UAE, the Etisalat Group has been quoted by local reports as saying.

He will report directly to the Etisalat Group CEO, a position currently held by Hatem Dowidar.

This new position is said to be part of the Etisalat Group’s ongoing transformation strategy that targets diversifying and exploring new growth opportunities, accelerating business development in the digital field, expanding geographical presence, and maximizing operational efficiency.

Mahmood has over 20 years of experience in the industry in various capacities, said the reports.

He currently serves on the boards of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company or Yahsat, the UAE Space Agency, and Etihad Aviation Group.

‏Commenting on the appointment, Dowidar said, “With his recognized career and strong drive for results, Masood is a true people leader who will focus on growing Etisalat UAE even further through achieving operational efficiency and generating value by organic growth strategies.”

Mahmood was quoted by the reports as saying that the appointment was, to him, “a motive to work continuously towards adding value for the services and solutions provided to Etisalat customers.”
