Gulf nations pledge to provide quality education

    The Arab countries, represented by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), have vowed to continue to work for the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), seeking to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by 2030.

    This came during the Global Ministerial Meeting for Education 2021 organized online by UNESCO and the steering committee for SDGs. The meeting discussed ways to speed up the process to achieve SDG No. 4.

    The ABEGS Director General Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Assimi highlighted the steps taken by the Gulf Arab countries to ensure the continuity of education during the pandemic.

    He told the meeting that the Gulf countries were working with other regional partners to develop national and regional indicators on education.
