Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature (NCCAL) and Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) discussed on Monday the means of promoting cooperation between the two organizations.

The Secretary-General of NCCAL Kamel Al Abdul Jaleel met with visiting chief of ISSCO Salem Al Malik in Kuwait.

The NCCAL assistant Secretary-General and spokesman Issa Al Ansari said in a press statement that Al Abdul Jaleel reviewed NCCAL achievements and effective role in creating a fertile cultural atmosphere in Kuwait, Kuwaiti media reports said.

Al Ansari added that Al Malik lauded the NCCAL’s role as an outstanding cultural mark locally and regionally.

He noted Al Malik showed an interest in listing heritage and archaeological sites in many Arab and Islamic regions through an integration agreement with UNESCO, the reports said.

More than 366 heritage and archaeological sites have been listed in the Islamic world, hoping to add 1000 more sites by 2025, he said.

Al Ansari added that Al Malik referred to working on establishing scientific researches in many fields, especially the fields of arts and literature, and promoting ties with the NCCAL.

The research will be in cooperation with many international universities in Berlin, Argentina, France and Korea, said Al Ansari.
