Jordan and Morocco keen to boost bilateral cooperation, regional development

  • Fayez hailed the role of King Abdulla II and that of Morocco's Mohammed VI in strengthening the bilateral ties.

Jordan Senate President Faisal Fayez Monday held talks with Moroccan officials in Rabat on bolstering Jordan-Morocco cooperation and the regional developments.

Fayez held discussions with his Moroccan counterpart Naam Miyara on bilateral cooperation and relations and means to further them on all levels, not the least of which are political, economic and parliamentary areas.

Fayez noted the role of King Abdulla II and that of Morocco’s Mohammed VI in strengthening the bilateral ties and upholding regional peace, adding that Jordan “takes pride” in the level of relations between the two countries.

He said that in light of the regional challenges, there must be more cooperation to address those challenges and threats, emphasizing that Jordan is strong despite the crises in neighboring countries and regional conflicts.

Fayez gave a briefing about Jordan’s parliamentary life and the parliament’s role in the overall political life.

He also explained the parliament’s role in supporting the intra-Arab parliamentary cooperation.

Miyara said that the Jordan-Morocco ties are “deep-rooted,” as they are founded on mutual respect, highlighting Rabat’s keenness to build on and develop them.

He praised Jordan for its pro-Arab and pro-Islamic positions, lauding Jordan’s “advanced” measures to reform its eco-political system to bolster democracy and the rule of law.
