DUBAI – Growth has been a top priority for the UAE, given its extensive trade and economic ties with countries worldwide, said Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

“This underscores our role in fostering development and regional and global cooperation, aiming to provide an economic model for all to emulate. The Emirati model demonstrates that economic prosperity is essential for a successful society and crucial for enhancing the quality of life of its citizens,” he added.

Speaking at the Genetic International Trade Association (GITA) Summit in Dubai, he highlighted the event’s significance in uncovering investment opportunities and boosting trade between India, African nations, the Middle East, and North Africa. This reflects the UAE’s dedication to bolstering international cooperation and strengthening the global economy under the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Nahyan commended the participation of over 600 economic leaders from more than 18 countries. Abdullah Al Hashimi, Executive Director of Operations at Parks and Zones and DP World for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries; Sanjay Sudhir, Ambassador of India to the UAE; and numerous international dignitaries also addressed the summit.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak honored Vinod Adani, Chairman of Adani Global, with the Jeetu Ratna Award for his significant contributions to national development and promoting Jeetu.

He said, “Your summit is a call to action for the business communities in India, African countries, the Middle East, and North Africa to collaborate for success. It’s crucial to recognize that managing large-scale investments and capital flows between India and these regions demands perseverance and hard work. This can be achieved through suitable social initiatives, emphasizing ethical and transparent transactions, and broadening both individual and institutional engagement in all collaborative projects and investments.”

He added, “I look forward to your discussions on achieving greater integration between India, the countries of Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa region. Specifically, how to build stronger trade and economic ties to enhance regional trade and investment, strengthen the private sector in each area, and increase its participation in national, regional development, and the global economy. We’ll explore managing globalization while sharing the benefits of modern technology, building and strengthening institutions that enable economic cooperation, and leveraging the growing special status of India, Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa in the global economy.”

Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the importance of training and developing business leaders in India, Africa, the Middle East, and North Africa to reach their full economic, social, and human development potential. These leaders must adapt to changing business environments, overcome obstacles, and build cross-border relationships.

“I certainly wish you a successful summit and hope our esteemed guests from abroad enjoy their time in Dubai and the UAE. I take this opportunity to wish all of you and the people of India prosperity and continued well-being in the years to come. We, in the United Arab Emirates, deeply value our friendship with India and hope that the excellent relations between our two countries will grow and become more productive,” he concluded.

Sheikh Nahyan also extended a special greeting to the African ambassadors attending the summit, expressing his deep appreciation for the enduring and close relations between the UAE and all African countries.
