DUBAI, UAE – As the UAE stakes its claim as a global nucleus for advancing Fourth Industrial Revolution solutions, its endeavors are aimed at driving a widespread digital transformation, said Omar Sultan AlOlama, UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications.
He was speaking during the inauguration of the First Industry Exchange Day, hosted by DEWA and organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
He highlighted that the UAE’s goal is to create a prosperous digital economy, built upon a robust digital infrastructure and a regulatory and legislative framework that supports and accelerates the expansion of the digital sector.
AlOlama took the opportunity to explain the country’s relentless commitment to digital transformation.
“The UAE’s approach is multi-pronged, concentrating on skill development, nurturing digital competencies, encouraging innovation, cultivating entrepreneurship, and backing digital startups,” he said. “The ultimate goal is to ease the adoption of digital foundations throughout various societal sectors while placing an emphasis on improving digital literacy.”
The minister highlighted the importance of digital literacy in the context of the rapid pace of technological evolution and the disruptive power of artificial intelligence.
“The UAE government has sought to build partnerships and establish cooperative frameworks with governments and institutions globally. The purpose is to exchange success stories, knowledge, and experiences – understanding that sharing knowledge is a crucial accelerator for the success of any initiative,” he said. “Through these collaborations, the UAE is cementing its readiness to embrace a future that is increasingly digital.”.
