DUBAI: UAE’s national carrier Etihad airlines said on Sunday that it has suspended passenger travel from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan until Aug. 7 as per the UAE government directions.
“This is an evolving situation, and this date may have to be extended in line with government mandates,” Etihad said in a statement.
On Friday, Etihad had extended suspension of flights to Aug. 2, while Emirates had said that its plans to resume flights from India and Pakistan from Aug.8 were under review, according to local media reports.
It said that passengers who have connected through India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE.
However, certain individuals such as UAE citizens and diplomats and Golden Visa holders are exempted from the entry restrictions but only after passing acceptance and quarantine conditions.
