OIC reiterates its unwavering support for Palestine

Hissein Brahim Taha, Tthe Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) met with Maher Al-Karaki, the Permanent Representative of the Palestine to the OIC, and reaffirmed his organization’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause at the headquarters of the General Secretariat, OIC stated through it’s official Twitter handle.

Representatives from both sides have discussed the latest growth in Palestine’s economy and politics.

During this meeting they also exchanged views to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, said a statement by the OIC Secretary-General’s office.

OIC is the second-largest inter-governmental organization after the UN with 57 member states.

“Brahim Taha stressed the OIC’s unwavering commitment to support the central cause of the Muslim Ummah in the international arena and to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,” said the statement.

This includes their right to “independence and the realization of sovereign State of Palestine with Al-Quds Ash-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital on the 1967 borders,” the statement added.
