Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Four Saudi universities were ranked among the top 100 world universities to register patents in 2021, compared to three in 2020, according to the annual report issued by the National Academy of Inventors in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Owners Association.

King Abdulaziz University achieved 4th place globally with 187 patents in one year. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals achieved 25th place with 91 patents and Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University achieved 58th with 45 patents while King Saud University ranked 68th with 40 patents.
