  • The two officials deliberated upon the establishment of a universities forum between the two nations

Jordan Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research Wajih Owais on Tuesday met Tunisian ambassador in Amman Khalid Suhaili to discuss cooperation in higher education between the two countries.

Owais and Suhaili discussed about efforts to implement the recommendations from the fifth meeting of the joint Jordanian-Tunisian Technical Committee on higher education into practice.

The recommendations include a new executive program for 2022–2025, an action plan between the Jordanian Scientific Research and Innovation Support Fund and the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the establishment of a universities forum between the two nations.

The two officials emphasized the need for more collaboration between the ministry and embassy to streamline the application process for Tunisian students awarded scholarships at Jordanian universities.

They highlighted the importance of fostering ties between Jordanian and Tunisian public universities and a partnership between the Pasteur Institute of Tunis and the Princess Haya Biotechnology Center.

They also underlined the need for participating in international research initiatives, particularly those that fall under Euro-Mediterranean cooperation programs.
