Digital Dubai and Dubai Police will strengthen their partnership and collaborate towards achieving strategic goals in cybersecurity.
The two have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in addition to driving innovation and human resource development, in both entities.
The MoU was signed by Yousef Hamad Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC), and Major General Ahmed Mohammed Rafi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs at Dubai Police.
The signing ceremony was held this week at DESC’s stand at the Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference (GISEC) in Dubai.
The agreement adds to the existing partnership between government entities entrusted with cybersecurity issues.
It is a common factor between the Dubai Digital Strategy, which aims to promote a comprehensive and integrated digital life, and Dubai Police, which takes on the responsibility of ensuring the community’s safety and security in all areas of life.
Yousef Al Shaibani asserted Digital Dubai’s commitment to developing strategic partnerships with its various partners from institutions and government sector entities in Dubai.
The two sides will cooperate in several areas, including preparing joint programs to raise the efficiency of graduates specializing in information technology.
This also includes training and qualifying Dubai Police employees and students in cybersecurity.
Furthermore, the two parties will collaborate to spread awareness of cybersecurity among all segments of the community.
Periodically holding simulation exercises for cyberattacks is also a part of the MoU.
Also, they will work to develop educational programs and materials focusing on cybersecurity, and tailored to the requirements of Dubai Police.
It is in addition to cooperating on efforts to spread awareness of cybersecurity issues among school students, including Hemaya Schools.
