ADDED partners with Valeo to set up electric cars technology hub

Dubai, UAE — Abu Dhabi’s Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has joined forces with Valeo, a global automotive technology company, to establish a technology hub in Abu Dhabi for the production of autonomous and electric car components.

The partnership aims to accelerate the growth of the automotive industry in the emirate and provide support to local electric car startups, as well as collaborate with existing electric vehicle companies.

Valeo, known for its advanced technologies and sustainability vision in green cities, plans to explore new areas of development through the integration of its expertise in the hub.

By focusing on the design and manufacturing of electric and autonomous driving car components, the collaboration will contribute to smart and sustainable mobility, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s Industrial Strategy (ADIS) and its goal of developing innovative technologies within the transport sector, ADDED said in a statement.

The agreement was signed by Arafat Al Yafei, Executive Director of the Industrial Development Bureau (IDB), representing ADDED, and Eng. Tamer ALY, Group Technical Center Vice President and Valeo Egypt General Manager, in Abu Dhabi.

Arafat Al Yafei, who highlighted the significance of the partnership in achieving the objectives of ADIS, said, “This cooperation to develop smart mobility and set up a technology hub for electric, autonomous car components in Abu Dhabi is in line with our initiatives to ensure that growth, sustainability, and advanced technologies go hand in hand in all aspects of our socio-economic development.”
