Covid-19: Oman vaccinates nearly two million people

    Dubai: Oman has vaccinated nearly 53 percent of the targeted population against Covid-19 since the start of the National Immunization Campaign, local media reports said.

    As many as 1,926,307 people have been vaccinated so far–1,587,784 (45 percent) have got the first dose and 338,523 (10 percent) both doses.

    Muscat governorate came first in the number of vaccinated people that reached 618,264 (55% of the target category) followed by North Al Batinah with 234,808 (39%), then South Al Batinah by 153,277 (45%).

    Health ministry data show 294,526 people in Oman have contracted the virus since the start of the pandemic. The total number of recoveries reached 276,483. More than 3700 people have died of the disease.
