Doha, UAE – Saudi Arabia and Qatar on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance cultural cooperation in a move to strengthen bilateral ties.
The agreement was signed between the visiting Saudi Minister of Culture, Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan and his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Acknowledging the deep-rooted relationship between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Prince Badr expressed his gratitude for the invitation extended to the Kingdom to be the guest of honor at the Doha International Book Fair 2023.
Prince Badr led the Saudi delegation in the inaugural meeting of the Culture, Tourism, and Entertainment Committee, a subsidiary of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. The committee meeting, held in Doha, saw the participation of government representatives from various sectors, and it served as a platform to discuss collaborative initiatives aimed at bolstering cooperation between the two nations.
Expressing appreciation for Qatar’s choice of Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor for the 32nd edition of the book Fair, Prince Badr commended the collaborative efforts undertaken by both nations in organizing the event.
In a separate meeting, Prince Badr met with Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
Acknowledging the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council as a comprehensive framework for strengthening bilateral ties, Prince Badr emphasized its alignment with the Saudi Vision 2030 and Qatar National Vision 2030.
