Tabuk, Saudi Arabia — The Red Sea Global (RSG) and Zain KSA have unveiled the world’s first carbon-neutral 5G network at the Six Senses Southern Dunes desert resort at the Red Sea.
RSG is the multi-project developer behind the ambitious regenerative tourism destinations, The Red Sea and Amaala.
The 5G network operates on clean energy harnessed from the world’s largest carbon-neutral grid. This is made possible through the utilization of more than 750,000 solar panels, as well as through the implementation of purpose-designed towers for this network.
The announcement underscores the alignment between the two strategies of RSG and Zain KSA.
The one of RSG built upon a novel business model for sustainable development that places humans and nature at the forefront, in accordance with the highest environmental protection and renewal standards.
CEO of RSG, John Pagano, said: “Our aim is to lead sustainable development globally through the adoption of 100 percent renewable energy and a 30 percent increase in biodiversity value by 2040.”
As part of this leading project, the two companies collaborated to develop distinct solutions that align with RSG’s commitment to sustainability, utilizing 3D printing technology. These solutions facilitate network coverage without the reliance on conventional towers, all while ensuring seamless service across the entire region.
