  • Masdar and Taaleria have purchased the projects from Domrel Biuro UsÅ‚ug Inwestycyjnych, a prominent player in Poland's renewable energy sector.
  • These projects incorporate solar photovoltaic (PV) and onshore wind technologies and are projected to power approximately 223,000 households.

Dubai, UAE — In a move towards bolstering Poland’s clean energy landscape, Masdar and Finnish energy firm Taaleri Energia have announced the acquisition of a 1-gigawatt (GW) portfolio comprising eight hybrid renewable energy projects.

Masdar and Taaleri have purchased the projects from Domrel Biuro UsÅ‚ug Inwestycyjnych, a prominent player in Poland’s renewable energy sector, the strategic move marks a significant expansion for both Masdar and Taaleri Energia in the Polish renewables domain.

They will maintain an ongoing relationship with Domrel to progress the projects through the required developmental stages.

These projects incorporate solar photovoltaic (PV) and onshore wind technologies and are projected to power approximately 223,000 households while simultaneously offsetting 1.8 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Capitalizing on recent amendments to the Polish Energy Law, specifically the innovative Cable Pooling provision, Masdar aims to link various renewable energy sources seamlessly within a single grid connection. The amendment, effective since October 2023, is anticipated to contribute approximately 25 GW of renewable capacity to Poland.

This acquisition builds on Masdar’s existing commitments in Poland, including the Mlawa and Grajewo Wind Farms inaugurated in 2021. The collaboration with Taaleri Energia emphasizes their joint commitment to advancing clean energy initiatives, as Kai Rintala, Managing Director of Taaleri Energia, highlighted: “This deal brings the total number of development projects in our SolarWind III Fund portfolio to 61, representing a potential gross generation capacity of 7.6 GW.”
