NEW YORK, US – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said on Sunday that 136 United Nations employees in Gaza Strip had died in 75 days, something the global organization had “never seen” in its history.
“Most of our staff have been forced from their homes,” the UN chief added in a post on X this morning.
Meanwhile, the UN chief said that the Israeli military offensive was creating ‘massive obstacles’ to the distribution of humanitarian aid inside Gaza.
“The real problem is that the way Israel is conducting this offensive is creating massive obstacles to the distribution of humanitarian aid inside Gaza,” he told reporters.
The UN Security Council adopted a resolution on Friday calling for boosting humanitarian assistance for Gaza Strip. However Israel continues its violent and indiscriminate bombing of various areas of Gaza Strip, ignoring international demands to provide safe passages for the work of relief agencies.
