GCC head and EU top diplomat review relations in Riyadh

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia–Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, have reviewed relations in a meeting in Riyadh.

The meeting discussed the latest developments and updates in both the regional and international arenas, notably the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, and ways to enhance international and regional efforts aimed at ending this humanitarian crisis.

They also reviewed aspects of the regional security dialogue for senior officials from the GCC countries and the EU, scheduled to take place on January 24, and the importance of this dialogue in promoting regional peace and stability.

Al Budaiwi affirmed the importance of international collaboration and unity in efforts to halt the continuous Israeli attacks against the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also highlighted ways to enhance cooperation between the GCC and the EU as well as develop it in various sectors, emphasising the importance of collective action between the two sides in confronting current challenges.
