Saudi Arabia is 2nd in Global Cybersecurity Index

    • The kingdom also ranked first in the Arab world, Middle East, Asia

    • Cybersecurity authority said it would continue efforts to make Saudi cyberspace safe

Saudi Arabia has ranked second among 193 countries on the Global Cybersecurity Index, issued by the International Telecommunication Union, a specialized agency of the United Nations, the Saudi Press Agency said.

The kingdom has also ranked first on the index in the Arab world, Middle East and Asia.

The country has jumped by 40 places since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030 when it ranked 46th globally on the 2017 edition of the index.

The Global Cybersecurity Index is implemented periodically based on five pillars: Legal Measures, Technical Measures, Organizational Measures, Capacity Building, and Cooperation, through analyzing the performance of countries on 80 sub-indexes.

The country’s National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) said that it would continue efforts to make Saudi cyberspace safe.

The NCA’s stated mission is to “work closely with public and private entities to improve the cybersecurity posture of the country in order to safeguard its vital interests, national security, critical infrastructures, high-priority sectors, and government services and activities in alignment with Vision 2030.”
