Qatar’s interior ministry has been quoted by local reports as saying that the country will resume the issuance of family and tourist-entry visas from July 12.
The decision is based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health regarding the Covid-19 developments, the reports quoted the ministry as saying.
It added that the move is also within the framework of the country’s approved travel policies.
In a statement shared on Twitter, the Ministry of Public Health said citizens and residents fully vaccinated with a jab approved by Qatar will not need to undergo quarantine if they have received the vaccine 14 days before their entry.
Also, those who have recovered from Covid-19 in Qatar within 12 months are exempted from quarantine.
For visitors, entry will be allowed only if the person is fully vaccinated 14 days before entering the country.
GCC citizens who recovered from Covid-19 in the last 12 months and received a single dose of a vaccine will also be exempted from quarantine, said the ministry.
All travelers need to present a negative result of a PCR test done within 72 hours before they enter the country. They should also receive approval through the Ehteraz app before boarding, said the local reports.
Qatar’s quarantine rules for citizens and residents have been formulated after classifying countries into three categories: red, yellow, and green.
Unvaccinated travelers are required to undergo institutional quarantine depending on the countries they travel from, the ministry has said.
