Russia, Turkey to sign new S-400 missile contract

The Russian government and Turkey are nearing an agreement to supply Turkey with additional S-400 air defense systems, according to an official of Russia’s Rosoboronexport arms exporter quoted by Interfax, Reuters reported..

Initially, Turkey’s purchase of S-400s from Russia strained ties with the United States and NATO allies. The United States sanctioned Ankara and has threatened to impose more sanctions if the country bought more major military systems from Moscow.
