United Arab Emirates and Israel on Tuesday signed a strategic cooperation agreement for digital health solutions in the Middle East and North Africa region.

DHI 2048 organisation launched in UAE is the latest cooperation to strengthen the ties between the UAE and Israel, following the Abraham Accords signed last year on August 13.

The official high-profile launch of DHI 2048, which was supported by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) was attended by ambassadors from the UAE and Israel, officials from health ministries and authorities, and leaders in public and private healthcare administration.

UAE’s health expenditure reached a value of  $15 bn in 2020 and is expected to hit $16 bn in 2021, a 6.6 percent year-on-year increase. Further, it is estimated that spending will reach $20.2b by 2025, which translates to a compound annual growth rate of 7.2 percent.
