Saudi Arabia, Singapore to enhance cooperation in digital economy

Since 2017, Saudi Arabia has added 37,000 telecommunication towers covering about 99 percent of the Kingdom's area.

Saudi Arabia and Singapore on Tuesday discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the digital economy, in addition to reviewing the Saudi Ministry’s strategic policies seeking to empower the Kingdom digitally. 

In his meeting with the visiting Minister of Manpower and the Second Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Singapore, Dr. Tan Si Ling, Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Eng. Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha also discussed raising the level of services and electronic platforms and developing digital skills as well as raising the participation of the private sector and entrepreneurs in implementing digital transformation projects in order to build a digital community and a digital government. 

The Kingdom and Singapore seek to activate the partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding for digital cooperation with the aim of improving bilateral relations in the field of communications, information technology and the digital economy, and enhancing their position and leadership at the regional and global levels.
