Saudi’s role in aviation security hailed at Experts Group Meeting

The membership has been renewed for 2022-24.
  • Saudi Arabia chaired the meeting of a team of aviation security experts within the Middle East Aviation Security Cooperative Program.
  • Representatives from Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, and the observer states Qatar and Egypt participated in the meeting.

Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation, chaired the meeting of a team of aviation security experts within the Middle East Aviation Security Cooperative Program (CASP-MID), which was hosted on January 19-20, aimed to adopt aviation security activities and programs for the year 2022.

The meeting was attended by representatives of member states of CASP-MID, and representatives from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The meeting was also attended by representatives from Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Jordan, and the observer states Qatar and Egypt, in addition to the Director of Aviation Security at the ICAO Regional Office in the Middle East.

The participants hailed CASP-MID achievements, Saudi Arabia’s leading role in aviation security in the region, and the constant support of countries to enhance the security and protection of civil aviation from acts of illegal interference, Saudi media reports said.
