The Abu Dhabi Police have restricted the plying of heavy vehicles in the emirate during the peak hours of the day throughout the month of Ramadan, it announced
It said heavy-duty trucks, lorries, and buses carrying more than 50 passengers would be banned on Abu Dhabi and Al Ain roads during specific durations throughout the day.
During Ramadan, such vehicles would not be allowed on the roads between 8 am and 10 am, and from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The decision is said to have been taken in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police’s strategic partners.
It apparently falls within the framework of efforts aimed at providing smooth flow of traffic and reduce accidents caused by heavy vehicles.
The police have urged drivers of heavy trucks to adhere to this schedule and contribute to making the emirate’s road safer during the holy month.
