Doha workshop promotes Qatarization policy in private sector

Qatar’s Ministry of Labor organized a workshop on Wednesday to promote policies for the Qatarization of jobs in the private sector.

  • The ministry would ensure Qatari employees’ rights are protected and that they are not subjected to abuse by their employer

Qatar’s Ministry of Labor organized a workshop on Wednesday to promote policies for the Qatarization of jobs in the private sector.

The officials from the Ministry and a number of private sector companies subject to Qatarization were present.

The workshop discussed the ministry’s policies regarding the Qatarization of jobs in the private sector, according to the new competencies of the ministry set by Amiri Decree No. 57 of 2021. It included a review of the most prominent services provided by the ministry, an investigation of the most prominent challenges facing the private sector, and a proposal to ease procedures, with an aim to ensure the Qatarization of jobs in the private sector. 

The Ministry of Labor stressed the importance of securing the work environment for the Qatari employee, so that his services are not terminated without notifying the Ministry which would ensure his rights are protected and that he is not subjected to abuse by his employer.

This workshop came as an affirmation of the Ministry’s endeavor to build a clear and effective work strategy for the coming period, and to involve stakeholders, in order to ensure its consistency with general policies and directions.
