Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) hosted on Thursday a pivotal roundtable for the Saudi British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) in London, focusing on investment opportunities and collaboration in the civil aviation sector.
Led by GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, the meeting featured Dr. Rannia Leontaridi from the British Ministry of Transport, Jennie Gubbins of the SBJBC, and key aviation industry leaders.
The discussion emphasized the strong commercial and investment partnership between Saudi Arabia and the UK. Notably, Saudi exports to the UK reached SAR 1.36 billion in Q1 2024, highlighting the strategic importance of the UK in the European market and the rise in passenger traffic between the two countries.
The meeting also highlighted various investment incentives in the Saudi aviation sector, aiming to attract further international collaboration.
A significant milestone was the signing of a framework agreement between Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) and British National Air Traffic Services (NATS) to enhance airport capacity. This agreement is expected to drive improvements in operational efficiency and capacity management.
During the meeting, Al-Duailej held bilateral discussions with Dr. Rannia Leontaridi on aviation cooperation and met with the CEOs of NATS and Gulfstream to explore further collaboration.
These discussions show the commitment of both nations to advancing their civil aviation sectors through strategic investments and innovative solutions.
