The four-day Grape and Seasonal Fruit Festival began in Asir region of Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The festival will be attended by 35 farmers who will display the products of their own farms, such as numerous varieties of grapes and several types of pomegranate fruits, peaches, ferax and berries.
The date of the festival coincides with the Abha Summer Festival 2022, which provides investment and job opportunities for various section of the society, as it aims to market the local agricultural products for which the Asir region is famous.
The kingdom holds several agricultural and horticultural festivals. In January this year, the inaugural
AlUla citrus fruit festival was held at AlMahkar Farm. On display were Jaffa, Baladi and Abo Surra oranges, clementines, mandarins, sweet lemons, limes, grapefruits, pomelos, kumquats and citrons picked from 200,000 trees across AlUla.
The festival is part of the Royal Commission for AlUla’s efforts to boost economic growth through community initiatives and development projects.
In May 2022, Mango and Tropical Fruits Festival was held at King Fahad Park on Sabya Avenue in Jazan province.
A total of 45 farmers took part in the festival, which showcases all of the fruits and crops for which Jazan is famous, including mango, papaya, banana, fig and guava.
