Jordan and Egypt held a meeting Monday to discuss mutual cooperation in the field of establishing, operating and developing logistic areas.

The two nations had signed a cooperation deal on the sidelines of the 30th session of the Joint Jordanian-Egyptian Higher Committee in February 2021 in Cairo.

The virtual meeting between the two highlighted the importance of implementing partnership projects for strengthening self-sufficiency, especially in food security.

The SG of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Zoubi, discussed Jordan’s expertize in storage, especially in the horizontal storage process of grains (containers).

This enabled the Kingdom to raise storage efficiency and its ability to sustain supply chains for these strategic commodities despite global challenges.

She added that the Jordanian government is planning to increase storage capacity to 24 months in 2023.

Dana Zoubi expressed the readiness of the Ministry to share its expertize with Egypt in this field.
