Sharjah Islamic Bank raises $500 million through five-year Sukuk

  • The five-year Sukuk attracted orders worth $1.3 billion, equivalent to 2.6 times the issue size, amid strong investor demand.
  • SIB priced the issuance at 5.85% final yield, representing a 105-basis-point spread over five-year U.S. Treasuries.

Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) has issued $500 million of five-year Sukuk, attracting orders worth $1.3 billion, or 2.6 times the issue size.

The Sukuk was priced at a final yield of 5.85%, equivalent to a spread of 105 basis points over five-year U.S. Treasuries.

The issuance marks SIB’s 13th Sukuk since it entered capital markets in 2006, extending its presence in international Sukuk markets.

SIB Chief Executive Mohamed Abdalla said the issuance reflected investor confidence in the bank’s financial performance and long-term strategy.

He said capital market activity is a key component of SIB’s funding strategy, supporting its financing plans and strengthening its ability to pursue sustainable growth.

Deputy CEO Ahmed Saad said the $1.3 billion order book reflected strong investor demand and confidence in the bank’s ability to execute international capital-market transactions.

He added that the issuance strengthens SIB’s flexibility in managing funding needs and diversifying liquidity sources to support its long-term growth plans.
