Shamma bint Sultan becomes first person from Middle East to join CEMUNE

Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt – Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Executive Director of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA), was on Saturday appointed to advisory board of The Centre for Multilateral Negotiations (CEMUNE). 

This is the first time that a person from the Middle East will undertake an advisory role for the international, non-profit advisory organisation, which works to foster deeper cooperation on key global challenges and has been recognised for contributing to regional and international achievements in sustainability.

“I’m extremely proud to be the first person from the region to be part of CEMUNE’s Advisory Board, and I am pleased to be able to bring my unique perspectives representing my region,” Sheikha Shamma said, 

The UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy for Climate Change Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber welcomed the collaboration between CEMUNE and UICCA. 

“Partnerships like this are going to be vital to our ability to accelerate climate action, in the lead up to COP28, and during this decisive decade,” he said.
