DFM reports higher H1 trading activity as profit reaches $121 million

Dubai, UAE — Dubai Financial Market (DFM) reported a net profit before tax of AED443.2 million ($121 million) for the first half of 2026, as trading activity on the exchange increased sharply despite a slight decline in market capitalisation.

Total traded value rose 40.4 percent year-on-year to AED119.5 billion, while average daily traded value increased 45.1 percent to AED1.004 billion. Average daily trades climbed 35.4 percent to about 18,759, reflecting stronger investor participation.

Total consolidated revenue reached AED557 million, down from AED888.9 million a year earlier, primarily because the prior-year period included AED462.2 million in one-off income from the sale of an investment property. Operating income totalled AED384.8 million, while investment returns and other income contributed AED172.2 million.

Expenses excluding tax rose marginally to AED113.8 million from AED111.8 million a year earlier.

During the second quarter, DFM posted revenue of AED303.9 million and net profit before tax of AED249.9 million.

The exchange attracted 42,864 new investors during the first six months of the year, with international investors accounting for 71.4 percent of new registrations. Institutional investors represented 71.2 percent of total traded value, while foreign investors contributed 51 percent of trading activity.

Market capitalisation stood at AED981.6 billion at the end of June, compared with AED995.6 billion a year earlier.
