Riyadh, Saudi Arabia–The Saudi Authority for Industrial Property and Technology Zones (MODON) signed yesterday a partnership agreement to establish, develop and operate 14 warehouses with flexible spaces in the First Industrial City in Jeddah.

Equipped with smart and automated systems, the warehouses are expected to provide fast and temporary logistical solutions to support industrialists and entrepreneurs and stimulate investment in the retail sector, SPA reported.

According to MODON, the project includes the establishment of fully automated digital warehouses without human intervention using the latest technologies and full equipment that allow access to storage units using the smart phone application (smart door locks) around the clock seven days a week.

MODON indicated that these warehouses will be operated according to the public-private partnership (PPP) model, which contributes to enhancing quality standards and operational efficiency.
