Dubai, UAE – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is gearing up for its next public holiday, as residents anticipate the upcoming three-day weekend to commemorate the Islamic New Year, also known as the Hijri New Year. 

The upcoming holidays are highly anticipated. following the recent extended Eid Al Adha vacation, which provided a six-day break and marked the longest holiday of the year.

The Islamic New Year holds great significance for Muslims worldwide as it symbolizes the beginning of a new lunar year. Astronomers are expected to announce the exact date of the Islamic New Year, with predictions pointing towards Wednesday, July 19.

However, according to the official list of holidays released by the UAE government, the holiday to mark the new year will be observed on Friday, July 21. This will provide the UAE population with a three-day weekend. 

It presents another chance for people to spend quality time with family and friends, explore local attractions, or embark on short getaways within the country.
