Tehran, Iran — Production of pick-up trucks and vans in Iran in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 to August 22, 2023) registered a 52 and 70 percent growth respectively compared to the same period of last year, Tasnim News Agency reported.
In this timespan, 61,999 pick-up trucks were manufactured in the country, showing a 52 percent hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.
In the first five months of the previous Iranian calendar year (March 21 to August 22, 2022), 40,658 pick-up trucks had been manufactured.
Meanwhile, pick-up truck production rate in the Iranian month of Mordad (July-August) this year also increased 55 percent compared to last year’s corresponding period.
In total, 11,436 pick-up trucks were manufactured in the country in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year.
The number of vans produced in the country from March 21 to August 22, 2023 was 1,371, showing a 70 percent hike compared to the same period of last year.
As many as 806 van vehicles had been manufactured in the country from March 21 to August 22, 2022.
