Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Marriott International signed an agreement with NEOM to open two luxury hotels in Trojena, NEOM’s mountain tourism destination in the north-western expanse of Saudi Arabia.
The agreement includes Saudi Arabia’s first W Hotel, and a JW Marriott chain-branded hotel, NEOM said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with NEOM on the development of these two remarkable properties in one of the world’s most eagerly awaited destinations,” stated Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President, Lodging Development, Middle East, Marriott International.
“W Hotels continues to redefine luxury hospitality, and NEOM aligns seamlessly with its vision of innovation, creativity, design, and exploration. Meanwhile, JW Marriott, one of our flagship brands, will bring its legacy of exceptional hospitality, thoughtful design, and enriching experiences,” Hauch said.
The forthcoming W Hotel in Trojena is poised to feature 236 guest rooms, including 47 suites, offering uninterrupted vistas of the mountains and a serene freshwater lake.
The property’s design blueprint incorporates signature brand spaces, including a Living Room, WET Deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness center. The hotel will also present four distinct dining venues and dedicated retail spaces. It will be nestled within the Lake Village region, envisioned to provide exclusive residential, hospitality, and commercial experiences right at the water’s edge.
Encompassing a 2.8-kilometer-long architectural lake, this destination is set to feature a forest and waterfront adventures. The Lake Village will also host an array of retail and dining establishments, fresh food markets, shopping avenues, and entertainment zones.
Trojena, a flagship development within NEOM, is being crafted and positioned as a year-round adventure sports haven, featuring activities such as skiing, water sports, hiking, and mountain biking.
Trojena is set to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games. Alongside the W Hotel and JW Marriott property, this development is poised to include apartments, chalets, retail outlets, dining establishments, and entertainment venues.
