Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior on Friday denied reports that have buzzed the social media about purported suspension or withdrawal of driving licenses for expatriates.

The ministry said in a statement that the personnel were actually engaged in routine upgrade of the licenses’ data system, swapping old permits for new digital ones.

However, it warned that illegal permits will be withdrawn and the involved person would be subject to legal procedures.
