UAE and Mexico discuss parliamentary cooperation

Dr. Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, Head of the Emirati-Latin American and North American Parliaments Friendship Committee of the Federal National Council (FNC), today met with Mexican Senator Ricardo Monreal at the headquarters of the FNC’s Secretariat-General in Dubai.

During the meeting, which was attended by committee members Saeed Rashid Al Abidi and Mariam Majid bin Thaniya, both sides discussed ways of boosting the parliamentary cooperation between the UAE and Mexico, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the work of a joint parliamentary friendship committee, in light of their keenness to strengthen their relations and in line with their joint strategic ties.

Al Tayer lauded the advancing bilateral relations between the two countries, which were established in 1975, noting the importance of the parliamentary relations between the FNC and the Mexican parliament.

Monreal stressed the keenness of the Mexican parliament to consolidate its ties with the FNC, to serve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries, reinforce their coordination on various issues of mutual concern, and ensure the exchange of expertise, knowledge and visits between the two countries.
