Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Saudi’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman explored enhancing bilateral ties with South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The two met in Jeddah on Saturday where they discussed issues of mutual interest and cooperation, local media agency reported.

An agreement was signed between the two countries during the presence of both the dignitaries, the important points of which are as follows :

Cooperation and exchange of news between the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) in Saudi and the state-run South African News Agency.

Partnership in encouraging direct investment, communications and information technology, exploring the establishment of a joint investment fund.

Cooperation in the fields of competence between the Special Economic Cities and Zones Authority in Saudi and South Africa Ministry of Trade, Industry.

Partnership in health, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, social development, maritime transport, and mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates.

Technical cooperation between the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the South African Standards Office (SAB).

Cooperation between Saudi’s General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) and the Armaments Corporation of South Africa in military acquisition.

Partnership between the Saudi Export-Import Bank and the Export Credit Insurance Company in South Africa.

Cooperation between the Saudi Geological Survey and Mintech Center for Research and Mineral Technology in earth sciences.
