  • A320 family planes, which are most frequently used for short and medium-range flights, accounted for more than three-quarters of last year's deliveries
  • Wide-body, two-aisle plane deliveries continued to lag, which reflected the much slower recovery in international flights

Airbus said Monday that it delivered 611 passenger jets in 2021, an 8 percent increase over 2020.

A320 family planes, which are most frequently used for short and medium-range flights, accounted for more than three-quarters of last year’s deliveries.

Wide-body, two-aisle plane deliveries continued to lag, which reflected the much slower recovery in international flights.

Toulouse-based Airbus reported net orders of 507 last year, excluding cancellations. A320neo, a single-aisle plane type, received the most orders.

Airbus will report 2021 financial results on Feb. 17.
