Dubai most popular holiday destination for 2022

  • Dubai figured at the fourth place in the "trending destinations for food lovers" list and first in "Trip Advisors list for city lovers."
  • More than 3.85 million tourists came to Dubai during the first nine months of 2021, according to the department of tourism and commerce marketing.

Dubai has progressed slowly over the past years to become one of the most prominent choices for travelers and tourists, especially after the UAE government focused its attention on revitalizing the tourism sector in the country and established various projects that attract individuals and families.

Such a welcoming environment has earned Dubai the first rank in the list of the world’s most popular holiday destinations for 2022.

The list of “Top Destinations Around the World” has been issued by Trip Advisor, which based its ranking on user reviews and ratings for 12 months. The last ranking was from November 2020 to October 2021.

What attracts them to Dubai?

Dubai, which beat London to earn the top ranking, is a diverse modern city that has it all: golden beaches, world-class restaurants, and grand hotels, besides being rated by travelers around the world as the best, which means it gets excellent reviews across all its tourism sectors.

Dubai also seeks to attract investments through legislation and laws that it develops in business, digital currencies, virtual projects, and partnerships that the government undertakes to develop its economy and reduce its dependence on oil.

Though still struggling to recover from Covid-19’s impact, the UAE’s government has worked hard to build new tourism initiatives that bring in travelers worldwide, on top of a large number of people who are already flocking to Dubai for Expo 2020.

Promising numbers

More than 3.85 million tourists came to Dubai during the first nine months of 2021, according to the department of tourism and commerce marketing. The report also indicated that the number of tourists during the third quarter of this year amounted to 1.35 million, including 620,000 during September.

In addition, hotels and apartments achieved an occupancy rate of 62 percent during the first nine months of 2021. India (528,000) and Russia (256,000)topped the list of countries most visited by Dubai during this period.
